Accuweigh Bag Filler for Concrete Additives Supplier
Accuweigh’s Melbourne branch received an order to supply and install a turnkey bag filling system for Prestige Concreting Additives at Carrum Downs in Melbourne’s South East. The bag filling system utilizes a screw conveyor, ribbon mixer / blender, bag filler and auto bag closer.
The bagging system utilises a screw conveyor to convey free flowing dry sand from an existing silo to the ribbon mixer. The ribbon mixer, which is mounted on load cells, weighs 1500kg of sand mixed with an additive, then automatically discharges the premixed weighment into a inclined screw conveyor for conveying to the bagging supply hopper.
Once the mixer has discharged, the bag filling system automatically commences another weigh cycle, whilst the previous blended batch is weigh filled into 20kg open mouth bags at a rate of six (6) bags per minute via an Accupak GB50 bag filler.
Filled bags are released onto a moving bag closing conveyor to the Newlong bag sewing system, which comproses of a sewing pedestal, in-feed device and sewing head for automatic start, stop and cut of the cotton chain thread. Accuweigh’s bagging system includes digital weigh indicators, Allen-Bradley PLC, soft start controllers and all associated electrical controls.
