Auto Control Vibrating Feeder
When linked to a scale through an electro-pneumatic controller, the VSS EziPack vibrating feeder can give precise control of feed rates, allowing a rapid fill/slow top-up method to reach a specific target weight quickly and easily.
The feeder drive is by a pneumatic non-impacting vibrator with the stainless steel feeder tray held on fibreglass blade springs. The vibrators are designed to run lubrication free, eliminating any possible product contamination.
The scale holding the container being filled sends a signal to the controller which in turn regulates the pressure of the air supplied to the vibrator. When the initial signal is given at, say 90% of the required weight, this causes the controller to reduce the air pressure and slow down the vibrator. On reaching the target weight, the signal from the scale causes the valves to cut off the air supply, and the vibrator stops. Because of the design of the vibrator there is virtually no ‘run-on’, which gives accurate weight every time.
The signal set points are easily changed to cover different weight requirements, with various scales available to suit the application.
A manually controlled version is also available, or the feeder can be simply set to give a constant feed rate.
