Bagging System Upgraded for QLD Stockfeeds Supplier
A bagging system was upgraded by the fitting of an Allen Bradley PLC to perform all bag filling, conveying and sewing functions on a stockfeeds bagging line. Performed by Accuweigh/Budpak’s QWM branch in Brisbane, the bagging system upgrade was done for Riverina Stockfeeds’ Oakey plant near Toowoomba.
Originally manufactured by QWM in the 1990’s, the bagging system had competently performed nearly 15 years of bagging operations without a glitch until recent problems started developing. After a thorough review of the condition of the bagging system proved very favourable, the decision was made for the ageing PLC originally fitted to be replaced by an AB Micro Logix 1200 PLC.
QWM’s bagging system is a dual auger net weigher used for bagging cotton seed. As a result of the PLC upgrade, this bagging system now is now expected to last through many more years of bagging operations.
