Compact Stretch Wrapper Installed at CSD Grains
Budpak recently installed a compact stretch wrapper and top sheet applicator at Cotton Seed Distributors’ new Westbrook plant of near Toowoomba. The stretch wrapper is part of a turnkey supply for bagging, palletising and stretch wrapping equipment as won by tender.
The Technipes PR-1 stretch wrapper is ideal for applications with limited space due to it rotating turntable with a static wrapping arm. The loaded pallet is placed onto the stretch wrapper’s turntable which then rotates while the reel-carrying roller raises and lowers vertically to ensure a tight wrap is achieved.
This stretch wrapper is suitable only for very stable bags weighing more than 20 kg because the centrifugal force originated by rotation to the central axis tends to cast light bags outwards. Other Technipes stretch wrappers utilising the common rotating arm are also available but these inherently require a larger working area.
The PR-1 stretch wrapper has an integrated top sheet applicator that fits a protective top sheet to the pallet for complete weatherproofing from the elements. The equipment supply also included an automatic bagging machine, custom support structure located on a mezzanine floor, automatic sealing line incorporating a ‘double pinch’ heat sealer, bag turner for turning the bags ninety degrees, gravity bag slide to the ground floor, a Fuji-Ace robot palletiser and all conveying equipment to the warehouse for storage.
