Conveyor Belt Scales Installed at Cement Australia
Conveyor Belt Scales was recently commissioned by Accuweigh’s Sydney branch at Cement Australia’s Auburn plant. The single idler Conveyor Belt Scale is being used to totalize the weights of stone and sand being conveyed at approx. 20-30TPH.
The model MBSX Belt Scale is based on a single idler weigh frame using 2 roller vee rollers with a resulting nominal accuracy of between 2-5%. This design of Conveyor Belt Scales was deemed to be the most appropriate design for the very steep and short incline measuring only 8 metres in length.
To ensure accurate belt speed measurement, Accuweigh’s Conveyor Scales utilises a belt speed sensor running on the return belt and mounted on the weigher frame with pre-drilled holes. The MBSX Conveyor Belt Scale has flexible design configurations making it ideal for simple installation with both weigh modules drilled and bolted on the existing stringer and the weigh roller then clamped to the weigher using U bolts.
These fully floating Conveyor Belt Scales are supported via stainless steel double ended shear beam load cells that require no routine adjustment, eliminating the use of lever arms or pivots, therefore the load cell(s) measure the true mass on the belt which reduces errors and makes calibration simpler. The MBSX belt scales features temperature compensated 6 wire stainless steel load cell(s) with overload protection mounted under the weigh carriage protected from harsh environments.
Accuweigh can supply, install and commission Conveyor Belt Scales for all industrial weighing applications and fully backed by eight sales & service branches across Australia.
