Westland Milk Products Stage 2 Protein Facility

As a follow on from the Stage 1 Protein Facility, Downer MBL is building Stage 2 of Westland Milk Products Protein Facility at Hokitika in New Zealand’s South Island.

Close collaboration between Westland's technical and operations staff with CPS and Downer MBL engineers, has led to a plant capable of producing everything from base commodity products through to specialised protein products, hence the need for technology that has "total flexibility".

The heart of the plant utilises "Stork Evaporation and Drying Technologies" from CPS. Newly developed technologies utilised in the Stork Wide Body Drier, enable this flexibility.

In addition to the evaporator and drier, the project also includes a Protein Preparation Plant and a Powder Blending/Storage Plant, again designed with Westland's "total flexibility" philosophy.
