New Zealand based specialty stainless steel manufacturer, NDA Engineering Ltd., is pleased to announce the opening of its new purpose built facility in Shanghai, China. The Honourable Mr. Phil Goff, NZ Minister for Trade, officially opened the facility at a ceremony on the 9th November 2006.

Originally founded at the end of 1998, Shanghai NDA Stainless Equipment Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of NDA Engineering Ltd. Currently employing approximately 130 staff in China, the company is projecting that by the end of 2007 that number will have grown to 200.

With the opening of the new facility, which occupies a total area of 14,600 sq.m., with 6,700 sq.m. of workshop area, the company is well equipped to add to its already impressive list of “blue chip” clients, who include companies such as Nestle China Ltd., Shanghai Squibb Pharmaceutical Ltd., Johnson and Johnson China Ltd., Dupont USA and Bayer China Ltd.

Shanghai NDA has the capability to design and manufacture, standard and customised stainless steel and alloy equipment for the Dairy, Food, Beverage, Biotech and Pharmaceutical, Neutraceutical, Chemical and Fine Chemical Industries.

The new state of the art facility is run by fully qualified personnel and receives full support from its parent company in NZ. This means that clients receive from Shanghai NDA, the same commitment to quality and service that NDA customers have come to expect from more than 100 years of commitment in NZ.

In addition to this commitment to quality and service, NDA Engineering Ltd. is able to assure clients of absolute business integrity and protection of intellectual property when equipment is manufactured in China by Shanghai NDA.

First established in 1894, NDA has become an integral part of the NZ Dairy Industry. Today, the company is still privately owned and has its head office and main manufacturing facility in Hamilton NZ, with additional manufacturing facilities in Normanby, NZ, Melbourne, Australia and now of course, Shanghai, China.

In the 1980’s, the company diversified into other market sectors and started to develop its export markets, while still maintaining a strong presence in the NZ Dairy Industry. Today, NDA regularly exports manufactured equipment to Australia, SE Asia, North America, South America and Europe.

Employing approximately 450 staff, the NDA Group has over 40,000 sq.m. of covered workshop and has the largest dedicated stainless steel/alloy facilities in Australasia.
