Heavy Duty Platform Scales Weigh Biohazardous Waste
Heavy duty platform scales were recently commissioned for SteriHealth’s Dandenong disposal plant by Accuweigh’s Salter branch in Melbourne. The platform scale is being used for weighing bins containing medical waste destined for disposal.
Salter custom manufactured the heavy duty platform scales to suit SteriHealth’s application that required a low profile scale for weighing bins of contaminated waste. The platform scales were bolted to the concrete floor for immediate use, but eventually will be pit mounted with the weighing platform at ground level for easier bin access.
Salter’s heavy duty platform scales are approved for trade use and fitted with access ramps for easy positioning of the waste bins onto the scale for weighing. An A&D 4323 digital weight indicator displays the weight readings and also transmits data to a host PC for invoices to be generated based on the weight of waste processed over the platform scales.
Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and has eight branches across Australia providing sales and service support on all types and capacities of scale sand weighing equipment.
