Meco HB Standard Screw Conveyor Seals on View at PowderHandling Seminar

Visitors to the EagleBurgmann stand at the Powder Handling Seminar on 18 November will be able to see the newest innovation from MECO: HB model high-performing, standard sized shaft seals for screw conveyors and similar equipment.

HB model seals have many of the design features used in MECO's famous custom shaft seals, but are in stock in five CEMA and eleven metric shaft sizes: from 1-1/2” to 3-7/16” and from 40mm to 90mm.

HB seals are designed to perform under 90% of the typical operating conditions associated with screw conveyors or scrolls. This includes food-grade applications, temperatures up to 500ºF (260ºC), abrasive products and vertical or inclined conveyors. The HB accommodates up to 1/4” (6mm) of shaft run-out.

High temperatures, speed or pressures, shaft run-out and abrasive products all pose critical challenges for waste pack housings and other seals. MECO has traditionally met these challenges with its custom seal designs; now with standard HB series seals, MECO has solutions in stock, manufactured to the same exacting standards at an economical price.
