Multi-Head Weigher Doses Powdered Soups
A Multi-Head Weigher was recently commissioned by Accuweigh’s Perth branch for dosing soup mixes for a VFFS machine at a bakery in Western Australia. Both the multi-head weigher and VFFS machine replaced existing packaging equipment on site that was no longer operating accurately of efficiently.
Accuweigh’s AW-M14A Multihead Weigher is fitted with fourteen individual weigh buckets with the discharge operation of each controlled by stepper motors with staggered dumping to avoid blockages of the transfer tube. The smoother and controlled discharge minimises weight influences on the load cells and weighing electronics and allows each bucket of the multi-head weigher to quickly resume weighing duties.
To suit this food application, all contact surfaces of the multi-head weigher are in stainless steel and suitable for use in wash down areas. A stainless steel bucket elevator was also supplied to feed product into the multi-head weigher as was a large working platform conforming to OH&S requirements to allow access for cleaning and maintenance.
