The Effects of Conveyor Misalignment

In recent industry articles it is reported that in Australia “Skill Shortages Will Worsen”. This is particularly relevant to the bulk material handling industry, especially resources as this industry takes on massive expansions.

Although the full extent of skill shortage is not with us now many industries are experiencing the effects. So with this in mind what do we need to do to get ahead in the race?

If we consider the effects of conveyor misalignment, the consequences of required manpower to correct the situation or the mess are significant. For example:

  • Conveyor structural damage.
  • Belt damage.
  • Conveyor Roller damage.
  • Material spillage.
  • Dust leakage.

Conveyor safety in your operation is critical and there are few more dangerous environments than conveyors. It’s reasonable that employees expect that the workplace will be clean and safe, free of spillage from conveyors. If this is not a priority and employees are expected to work in poor conditions then staff turnover will be high and workers safety will be compromised.

The goal in achieving proper and consistent belt tracking is to ensure safe, consistent, trouble-free, economical conveyor system operation.
