The Plus in Screening
(Bronschhofen) Ultrasonic specialist Telsonic AG has redesigned its Sonoscreen screening system. The Sonoscreenplus screening system being unveiled now features numerous new functions. It is easier to use, throughput can be optimised and intensity can be fine-tuned further. One generator can now power multiple screening systems and the system is ATEX certified. Backwards compatibility with the existing screening system is assured.
"The new SONOSCREENplus screening system incorporates our decades of experience in the field of ultrasonic screening technology to create what is virtually a new screening system," says product manager Peter Thoma. Optimising the movement of the fabric boosts throughput during screening. Users can operate the SONOSCREENplus system easily via a membrane keyboard. Preselected options allow 16 different, product-specific settings¬ to be chosen. In addition, the appropriate operating mode can be preselected for any screening problem. A memory card stores preset, customer-specific formulas which can be accessed at the touch of a button. All these features facilitate operation, reduce set-up and start-up times and make screening processes repeatable.
ATEX Certified Generator and Screening System
To collect data for evaluation purposes users can utilise the new PC interface. The display field also provides information at any time about settings, warnings and error messages. Other analogue and digital inputs and outputs allow the screening system to be connected to external controls. For the first time, multiple screening systems can be powered by a single generator. HF cable lengths of up to 50 metres are supplied to enable the generator to be installed in a central location.
The latest development with ATEX certification can also be deployed in hazardous areas. The system is approved for dust for zones 20 (inside), 21 (outside) and 22 (generator). For gas, approvals for zones 1 (inside), 1 (outside) and 2 (generator) are in view. The SONOSCREENplus screening system was shown for the first time at POWTECH. It is subsequently available for sieve diameters up to 2800 mm. Power variations are evened out internally in terms of frequency and voltage. This creates the same operating conditions worldwide and it is therefore possible to provide only one version of the system. Backwards compatibility with the SONOSCREEN screening system is assured according to the manufacturer.
Swiss Pioneer and Technology Leader
The Swiss Telsonic AG is the pioneer in the field of ultrasonic technology. The company, which was founded in 1966,¬ with subsidiaries in Germany, England, South-East Europe, China and the USA as well as a
joint venture in India and global representatives, holds numerous patents. It applies ultrasonic¬ technology for welding, separation welding, cleaning and sieving, as well as in chemical processes. Telsonic patented its ultrasonic screening technology in 1994.
