PowderHandling.com.au - February 2010 Newsletter:

Welcome...

....to the first issue of the PowderHandling.com.au on-line newsletter for 2010. And if the start  of the year is anything to go by, 2010 looks like being a bit of a buzz!

We have seen a lot of activity on the web site since the holidays, with an increase in visitors,  an increase in newsletter sign-ups and the number of enquiries coming through our system as high as it's ever been. All positive activity for the start of the year!

We've also seen an increase in marketing activity from our listed suppliers, and we welcome Microclean Australia and  Brolton Group as new Gold Members and we are especially pleased to welcome Pressure Systems as one of our exclusive Platinum Members. (More about Pressure Systems below.)

Last week, we also announced the first of our seminars for 2010. This event has a few "firsts" for PowderHandling - it's the first time we've held an event in Brisbane and it's the first time we've held an event over 2 days. The first day of the seminar will be looking at "Modern Technology for the Powder Handling and Processing Industry" and the second day will be dedicated to the important area of "Dust Control and Dust Explosions". Delegates can register for just one, or both days. A brief overview of the agenda can be found below and full details and a Registration Form can be found on the seminar web site.

If you think that our seminars or newsletter would be of interest to your colleagues and associates, then do them a favour by forwarding this newsletter to them. They can then subscribe to receive their own copy every month.

Micro Ingredients Formulation

Matcon Micro IngredientsThe Matcon Flexibatch Micro is an automated micro ingredients formulation system. The machine incorporates a carousel system that holds ten raw material hoppers each with a volume of 60 litres. The raw material hoppers incorporate a material conditioning agitator and a feed auger which is specifically sized to suit the flow characteristics of the material.

The carousel rotates so as to position the correct raw material hopper above the bag filling and weighing station, at this point a clutch mechanism is engaged and the material is discharged into the collection sack/bag positioned below. The Flexibatch Micro will automatically dose the material in course and fine feed rates so as to achieve the greatest accuracy possible and will also......
