Food manufacturing is one of the cleanest environments in the entire manufacturing sector and keeping the food factory clean and free of potential contaminants is an important task – one that requires not just stringent rules and regulations, but also well-designed and reliable technology to ensure that the making of food stays well within the myriad of food safety laws and other health parameters.
Available now from ducting specialist Eximo SpeedLock , FoodFlex is a medium weight and flexible polyurethane ducting that is clear of colour, allowing constant inspection of product as it travels along the system.
FoodFlex ducting contains an organic compound that is resistant to mould, fungus microbes and hydrolysis. Being built into the product it continues to perform even as the wall deteriorates during use, unlike others with a simple coating of inhibitors.
According to Eximo SpeedLock, apart from its strong and flexible polyurethane, wall reinforcement is done by way of its powder coated spring steel helix throughout the length of the product. As this quality is built into the product, it continues to perform even as the wall deteriorates during constant use, which is unlike some other products that only use a simple coating of inhibitors. FoodFlex has a solid construction with good oil resistance and abrasion resistance and a smooth bore. Its temperature resistance ranges from -40 °C up to +100 °C.
The product is available in single length 10m roles or in cut lengths to order. FoodFlex with diameter ranging from 20mm to 99mm has a wall thickness of 0.5mm, while FoodFlex with diameter ranging from 100mm to 250mm has a 0.6mm wall thickness.
Some of the other features of FoodFlex include:
- Resistant to hydrolysis and microbes
- Quick and easy installation
- Solid construction
According to Eximo SpeedLock General Manager Karen Browne, Eximo’s research and development is the key to ensuring Australian food manufacturing has access to the best ducting technology in the country.
“For this reason, we are continually researching and developing new products to ensure that as food manufacturing techniques advance, we have the ducted disposal system to meet any specific requirements”, says Ms. Browne, adding that, “We have everything from faster, more efficient particle and fume removal, all the way up the minute ways to simultaneously remove waste without interrupting a packaged food production line running at break neck speed”.
