A Metal Detection System was recently commissioned for inspecting to detect potential metal contaminants in bags of flour in South Australia. Supplied by Accuweigh’s Adelaide branch, the Fortress Phantom Food Metal Detection System has a unique capability that allows it to also operate in the reverse direction which streamlines daily test procedures to confirm correct metal detection sensitivity.
On Metal Detection Machines without a reverse feature, operators are required to manually return the heavy 25kg bags of product to the starting point after each sample run. With the Fortress Metal Detection System, the operator repositions the test piece after the initial pass and reverses the conveyor direction for the test sample to be inspected while returning to the entry point eliminating the need for manual lifting of product samples.
Fortress Food Metal Detection Systems are available in aluminium or stainless steel with a wide variety of aperture sizes and are built rugged to withstand the harshest of food inspection applications. For heightened stability and performance in wet product applications, the IP-69K certified BSH Extra Rugged Casing utilises an epoxy chute to eliminate potential water damage of the sensitive components.
The fully modular hygienic conveyor is constructed to industrial specifications in 304 stainless steel and is designed for use in harsh environments including wash-down with a wide range of belt sizes. The Stealth Food Metal Detection System is fitted with a different keypad interface with integrated HACCP reporting capabilities using a USB port to allow data logging of all major events such as rejects, operator validations, faults, etc.
Accuweigh is the exclusive Australian distributor for the Fortress range of Food Metal Detection Systems manufactured by Dynamic Inspection in New Zealand.
