Onboard weighing systems are currently in use of fifteen light tipper trucks owned operated by Brisbane City Council’s Works Department. Supplied and commissioned by Accuweigh’s Brisbane branch, the onboard weighing
systems were required to eliminate accidental truck overloading.
Onboard weighing systems and payload monitoring systems can limit the truck owner’s responsibility under Chain of Responsibility Legislation that is of high concern to transport and loading operations. The onboard weighing system provides visible weight readings, percentage of vehicle capacity used with audible alarms to warn the driver whenever the RGVM of the vehicle is exceeded.
Accuweigh’s onboard weighing systems are designed for single axle vehicles, including vans, utilities, light and medium trucks. The weighing system uses highly sensitive sensors positioned on the suspension at each wheel providing overload protection for the front axle, the rear axle and also the combined RGVM.
The tipper trucks were supplied by Brisbane Isuzu with the onboard weighing systems fitted by Accuweigh’s Salisbury branch prior to delivery of the trucks to BCC. The installation is very straightforward with approx one day required to complete each install, including calibration and full testing of the trucks with certified test weights.
Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and has branches in all mainland states providing local, state based backup and support for national clients for all weighing products including onboard weighing systems.
