Rapid, Accurate Particle Size Distributions for Both Wet and Dry Dispersions

The Mastersizer 3000 has taken laser diffraction to the next level with the release of two new accessories: the new Hydro Sight, an imaging accessory and the Hydro SV, a small volume wet dispersion unit.

The Mastersizer 3000 laser diffraction particle size analyser enables rapid, accurate particle size distributions for both wet and dry dispersions. Measuring a particle size range of between 3.5mm to 10nm, it delivers exceptional performance in the smallest of footprints and enables operator-independent measurements. With the release of the new Hydro Sight and Hydro SV additional unique capabilities are possible.

Hydro Sight provides real-time imaging of the liquid dispersion process inline with your laser diffraction particle size measurement. The images that Hydro Sight delivers make it quicker to identify optimal dispersion conditions for wet or liquid particle size analysis methods. Oversized or foreign particles, agglomerates and dissolution of samples can be followed via live images, videos and dispersion metrics to quickly understand what has gone wrong if a problem is encountered during an application. This enables more efficient, less expensive analysis across the lifetime of a product.

Hydro SV is a simple, cost effective, new wet dispersion unit for the Mastersizer 3000 requiring just 5.6-7ml of sample. The Hydro SV is provided with a magnetic stirrer to ensure representative sampling and a wash station accessory which facilitates easy rinsing and cleaning of the measurement cuvette in between measurements. The Hydro SV is particularly useful to support early stage product development to predict and control properties such as product stability, uniformity, flowability and appearance and can also help with understanding the processability of a new material.
