Unattended Public Weighbridge Installed At Port Of Brisbane

An unattended public weighbridge was recently installed at the Port of Brisbane to allow loaded trucks leaving the facility to be weighed and receive a legal weight ticket at any time, day or night. The unattended public weighbridge comprises a series of sensors and a Driver Interface with credit card facility to allow drivers to pay for and legally generate their own Public Weighbridge Ticket.

Supplied by Accuweigh’s QWM branch in Queensland, this public weighbridges measures thirty-six metres long with individual weighbridge deck lengths of 3 metres, 6 metres, 11 metres and 16 metres to suit usual truck axle group spacings. Eighteen stainless steel weighbridge load cells of thirty tonnes capacity each are used to support the individual weighbridge decks for a weighing capacity of one hundred and twenty tonnes.

QWM’s quad deck weighbridge is trade certified for use as a public weighbridge and is fitted with sensors to ensure correct vehicle positioning on the weighbridge is achieved. A semi-pit weighbridge design was used to allow the public weighbridge to be installed at ground level for ease of truck access.

For cleaning and servicing requirements, the weighbridge load cells are accessed through removable steel grates fitted to both sides of the weighbridge for the entire length. As well as eliminating the need for confined space permits, the raised steel grates provide a non-slip surface to assist truck driver access to their vehicles.

Accuweigh/QWM is Australia’s largest supplier of weighbridges with full after sales service support available through eight branches across Australia.
